Kool-Aid Play Dough Recipe

Kool-Aide Play Dough Recipe

Kool-Aid play dough recipe is easy and fast! Last week during preschool we made Emoji faces with the most amazing play dough. We learned about emotions and Emoji faces were perfect for talking about feelings.

For the Emoji faces you will need gems, black pipe cleaners, googly eyes, circle cookie cutters and play dough. I also printed emoji faces and laminated the pictures.

The texture of this play dough is simply amazing! I love playing with this play dough, right along with the kiddos. This play dough doesn’t flake apart like other brands and is so soft and pliable.

 Kool-Aid Play Dough

1/2 cup boiling water

1 tablespoon oil

1/4 cup salt

1/2 cup flour

1 package Kool-Aid

Stir oil, water and salt until dissolved

Stir in flour and Kool-Aid

Mix and knead until texture of play dough

Store in fridge

Play dough is wonderful for sensory play and fine motor skills. I use play dough often with a tray of items that they can stick into the dough and make other cool things like this adorable caterpillar.

Although dough tools are great, I think that we can be much more creative with play dough. There are tons of ideas on Pinterest. Soon I will be adding a series about Invitations To Play that will also give you more ideas. For now, I would start with the emoji faces and see how wonderful the play dough is. Just about any item that we use in our sensory tables would be suitable for play dough as long as it is dry. For a list of sensory play items go HERE.
